New Horse Trading Video Available

Just to let you know I've posted a new video for your delectation. It gives a detailed explanation of the in-running scalping technique I introduced earlier this year; discusses the options available to you and the things to look out for.

You can find it here or over on the Bet Your Life Sports Trading Youtube Channel. Hopefully you'll be able to last through its 40mins duration without falling asleep!

Alistair, I've found your in-running videos very interesting and thought-provoking. Thanks for taking the time to produce them.

However, I wonder if there really is room in the market for manual trading in this way?

I don't bet or trade in-running myself — I'm much too timid — but my understanding is that liquidity is noticeably less than it used to be, largely due to recognition of the edge that tracksiders have.

If there is a consistent edge scalping as in your videos, aren't you concerned that the bots will be beating you to the value, and leave you clicking for the scraps?

Pennies and steamrollers spring to mind.

I enjoy your blog and videos — you obviously put a lot of work into them.

Personally, I think there's plenty of money in-running for this type of scalping - keeping in mind that using large sums in-running is obviously more risky.

I'm not that concerned with bots beating me to the value. In a fast moving market value is such a fleeting concept anyway. Within the 1 second time delay that moment of value has gone only for another to arise elsewhere assuming it existed in the first place.

The whole idea of putting lays below the current price is to wait for the value to come to you rather than go searching for it.

Having said that, when looking for a 1 tick offset, I really don't think value matters that much.
